Gastritis is common and usually very treatable, but a 10-minute appointment rarely leaves time for the detail. This 109-page workbook gives you that time: what’s causing your gastritis, what your tests and biopsy report mean, how to take your treatment so it works, how to find your own triggers, and when to go back for help.

Is this workbook for you?

  • You’ve been told you have gastritis, or you have ongoing indigestion and are waiting for tests.
  • You’ve been prescribed omeprazole or H. pylori treatment and want to get it right.
  • You want to understand your gastroscopy or biopsy report.
  • Your symptoms come and go, and you want to work out why.
  • You want to feel more in control, and better prepared for appointments.

What makes it different

  • Written by a clinician who does this work. Ben Johnson is an NHS Advanced Clinical Practitioner in gastroenterology who performs gastroscopies and prescribes as part of his NHS work.
  • Every clinical statement is referenced. Numbered citations link each point to NICE, British Society of Gastroenterology or NHS guidance, or peer-reviewed research, listed in full at the back.
  • Built to be used, not just read. Trackers, checklists and appointment pages turn the guidance into things you actually do, and give your GP or specialist a clear picture in minutes.
  • Kept up to date. It’s reviewed every year. If a referenced guideline changes materially before then, the updated edition is free for everyone who has already bought it.

Why I wrote it

I put this workbook together because I kept having the same conversations in clinic, with people who wanted more time and more detail than a single appointment allows. My hope is that it gives you both: the detail, and the reassurance that comes with understanding what’s happening and why.

Frequently asked questions

What format is it?

A PDF you download straight after paying. It works on a phone, tablet or computer, and prints well on A4 at home.

Can I print it more than once?

Yes. Print the trackers as many times as you need for your own use.

Can I share it with a friend?

Please don’t. It’s licensed for your personal use. You’re welcome to share the link to this page.

What if there’s a problem with my download?

Get in touch through the contact page with the email address you used, and we’ll put it right.

Does it replace my doctor?

No. It supports the care you get from your GP, pharmacist or specialist team, and helps you get more from it. It includes a red-flag card so you know when not to wait.

Can I fill it in on screen?

Yes. Most worksheets have boxes you can type into using a free PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can also print the pages and fill them in by hand.

I have reflux as well as gastritis. Which workbook should I get?

If your main problem is heartburn and acid coming up, start with the reflux plan. If it’s upper tummy pain, indigestion or a gastritis diagnosis, start with this one. Many people find both useful.
